3 things i love about summer...

1. fresh melon

2. frozen go-gurt

thankfully, yoplait has read my mind

& started making these
with more wholesome ingredients.

"simply go-gurt" is the only variety i buy.

at $2.25 for a box of 8,
they cost less than 30¢ apiece.

(vegetarians, take note: these do contain gelatin,

a flaw my veggie kids are willing to overlook.)

3. hawaiian tropic as bath oil

during the winter months
i use neutrogena bath oil,

but come summer, i switch to this.

the scent is unmistakably tropical....mmmmmmm.

a really busy day

this has been a non-stop, busy day.

i am just now heading out for a walk (in the dark).

i feel kind of like this:

tomorrow, i plan to "under-do"

to make up for today's "over-do."

july 13 - happy birthday, marian!!

she is named after my mother
{which they both love},

but she has had her share of nicknames.

as a baby, i called her shoogs (for sugar).

as a toddler, we called her may-may.

now, she is marian,

but we also call her mimmy.

she is my middle child.

she is smart, silly, empathetic, loyal, 

and she has a
heart of gold.

today, she turned ELEVEN.

she requested:

waffles for breakfast

a "spa"

veggie sushi for dinner

brownie sundaes

happy birthday, sweet girl.

i love you.

last week (for the holiday weekend)

our farm took a break.

marian's birthday is tuesday,
