double duty "shaving cream"

half-empty, unloved shampoos & body washes
taking up precious real estate
on the edge of the tub
clutter up my zen bath vibe.

when it comes to bath products,
having the bare minimum suits me just fine.
sudsy potions must prove themselves worthy
to be included in my washy must-haves.

for shaving my legs, soap just doesn't cut it.
i have tried using conditioner, like they say
in the magazines, but it's too slippery.
i don't like buying a separate, single-purpose
shaving cream to just wash down the drain.

i have found that lotion
is my favorite shaving cream.
this one in particular:
after shaving with lotion,
your skin will be mighty moisturized.

of course, any lotion will work,
but nature's gate gets some serious bonus points:
-cruelty free & vegan
-made with wholesome, food-like ingredients
-no parabens or other gross stuff
-fragrance free
-available at my grocery store {winco}
-under $5.00 {though the online price is $11.69}

double bonus points, since nature's gate
you can feel proud to support:
Our Mission:
To combine the power of natural ingredients with innovation and science to create affordable, safe, sustainable, performance and value driven products.
We are committed to using pure, sustainably harvested herbs, fruits
and essential oils, without animal-derived ingredients, to enhance the overall health and wellbeing of our customers and our planet.

soccer

ned started soccer today

i loved that he was wearing emily's old
soccer cleats, shin guards, & socks

i am so glad we found kickin kids soccer.
i was ready to give up on team sports
because of the burn-out
from weeknight practices.
kickin kids is different.
Kickin' Kids Sports was started when we were personally tired of giving a lot of time and money for our own kids' initial experiences with team sports.  We wanted to offer something less complicated and more catered toward kids and families.

soccer happens on saturdays
from 10:30 - 11:30.
the kids practice for 15 minutes,
then the game is 45 minutes.
and the season only costs $30
{that low cost includes a shirt, team photo, & a trophy}.
i am telling you,
it is kids team sports nirvana.
why can't everything be like this?

clementine

ned & i are reading the clementine books.
we found them in the scholastic book order.
we love them.
we didn't realize it was a series
and started with book #3.
i think they are just as good out of order.
here is an excerpt:
"Principal Rice rolled her eyes to the ceiling then, like she was looking for something up there.  Ceiling snakes maybe, just waiting to drip on you.  That's what I used to be afraid of when I was little, anyway.  Now I am not afraid of anything.
Okay, fine, I am afraid of pointy things.  But that is all.
And boomerangs.
'Clementine, you need to pay attention,' said Principal Rice.  'We need to discuss Margaret's hair.  What are you doing on the floor?'
'Helping you look for ceiling snakes,' I reminded her.
'Ceiling snakes?  What ceiling snakes?' she asked.
See what I mean?  Me - paying attention; everybody else - not.
I am amazed they let someone with this problem
be the boss of a school."
{then, later in their conversation}
"There is a look they teach a person to make in principal school that is not very nice."

clementine is funny,
her parents are cool.
and the chapters are just the right length
for bedtime, when we are both very tired.

do you love this song?

it always reminds me of
◄hoka hey►
which is what we said every morning
of my NOLS course, back in the fall of 1989.
it means, "it's a good day to die."

have you heard this version?

have you watched this trailer?
