a loaded picnic basket

ned & i had a picnic
on this chilly, sunny day.
i made salami & cheese sandwiches
{a rare treat}
which prompted unending questions
about pigs & pork & meat.

note:
ned calls any kind of deli meat "hammin"
~ sort of a combo of ham & salmon, i suppose.

emily & marian are both vegetarians,
so almost all of our meals are meat-free.
after today's lunch & subsequent discussion,
ned thinks that he wants to be a vegetarian, too.

okay, little buddy.
you do what you feel is right.

tonight we're having veggies with
tofu or chicken...
which will he choose?

Well, we are vegetarian-ish too. But every once in a while a girl just has to have some beef! So I just had an oh-so- delicious burger while Dave is out of town. Salami sure does sound good! Wish you and Ned were here picnicing ...it was 85 here today! xoxo Gretchen

I am getting closer and closer to being vegetarian...the boys here, not so much...but I do throw in meatless dinners at least 2 -3 times a week! Sunny here today too, but chilly!

Well I could live without meat and do lots of days...but....hubby would not make it through the first meatless meal!

Richard and I been vegan since October and I still love it! So much good food to eat and I do not feel deprived at all. So many ways to get healthy protein. Graham, my oldest, is a vegetarian too, and Aaron likes mainly chicken and a burger once in a while.
