halloween bits

fruits & vegetables {with a side of muppet}

with lots of candy on the horizon,

i figured i'd mention my health elixir.

behold, the green smoothie.

life is better when i have a green drink

every. single. day.

today, i drank two of these {that's 32 ounces}.

the other waits patiently until the morrow.

green smoothies will stay fresh

in the fridge for a few days.

i loosely follow this recipe.

i've also been taking juice plus

every day since march.

i used to buy this through my doctor

when i was pregnant with ned,

but now, jan is a distributor,

so i buy it through her.

ned takes it, too.

he takes half the adult dose.

he swallows the capsules with

a spoonful of yogurt {great tip}.

today's change in the weather

mirrored my mood exactly.

almost instantaneously,

the weather shifted

from glorious-crisp-sunny

to moody-windy-cloudy.

the overall effect was very cozy.

but we're really leaning towards betsy.

today, we learned that her mom's name is bets.
she had a special visit today from the family who saved her.
she is so loved.

we have a brand new puppy.

she is deaf, so we're learning lots

about how to train her.

the dog in the video below is a double merle australian shepherd,

with markings very similar to our puppy.

this friendship seems promising

we are taking this friendship nice & slow

was going to be put to sleep

because she is deaf.

marian's friend, wyatt, rescued her.

he saved her life and found her a home.

she was the runt of the litter.
she is 6 weeks old & weighs just over 3 lbs.

we haven't settled on a name for her.

we have 3 or 4 favorites,

but we're open to suggestions.
