i take a walk every single day, usually with ned.
we are fortunate to live so close to several ponds

that are FULL of life.
mostly, we see mallards.

hundreds of mallards live on the ponds year-round.
they are quite comfortable around us
and will eat right out of our hands.
there’s one gimpy-footed male mallard -

his name is “buddy” and i always feed him extra.
then, there’s one big white farm duck -

his name is “white duck” and he's the boldest duck out there.
we see lots of canadian geese, too.

they HISSSS at us if we get too close.
there have been giant flocks of skittish, untrusting

and a few random black ducks (scoters, maybe?).
right now, there are babies.
so cute, so fluffy,

so eager to gobble up the crusts from our morning toast.

Ned must love his walks with you! Look at how cautious and gentle he is with the babies! You will have the perfect place to take your home duckling back to its environment someday soon!
