obey the grey {deux}

have you heard?
:: grey ::
is this season's best neutral.

that works for me
since i always gravitate to grey.
not sure why, exactly.
i just love it.

:: stormy skies ::
:: weathered barnwood ::
:: wet cement ::
:: pebbles ::

grey is almost always flattering to wear,
maybe because its drabness
makes any complexion look rosy by contrast.

i also have a hunch that my grey addiction
has something to do with
my mother's oft repeated refrain,
"but, you look so GOOD in pink!"
don't get me wrong,
i love my mom & i love pink, too.
and long ago,
she & i arrived at a happy medium:
she gives me both colors, and i wear both.
in fact, i have one fleece jacket from her
that is the symbol of our
compromise-without-compromise.
it is reversible: pink AND grey.

but, since this is not a pink post but a
:: grey post ::
here's my new grey shirt
~ L♥Ve it ~
so soft & layer-able
{a bargain: $8.95 at again}

it is a little bit prairie & a little bit victorian.
it reminds me of
:: these ::

rational ruffles tee : : : : : : molded & melded tee
{both from anthropologie}

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

check out the "romantic ruffles"
section at garnet hill
for loads of lovely grey
:: like this ::

also from garnet hill,
i love this giant grey cashmere scarf

sporty grey peep-toes, anyone?
i had the good judgement
to buy a pair of these more than 2 years ago.
and they still look good-as-new.
back then, they were J-41 brand
which was sued by JEEP (?)
and had to change names.
the brand is now called JAMBU.
{they are still available here}

note: i'm so picky about shoes
and i really love these.
very comfy & good for your feet.
cute with jeans.
cute with skirts.
cute.  cute.  cute.

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

another favorite...
this strand of grey freshwater pearls.
it is a necklace,
but wrapping it 4 times around my wrist
 makes it a cuff.

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

i also have a new favorite pair of
insanely comfy charcoal grey yoga pants by
green apple.
they are made of organic bamboo fiber!
they are very long with a raw hem...
just trim to the right length.
if you buy these, please take my advice:
wash on cool & hang to dry.
{had to return the first pair after they shrunk.}

☼ ☼ ☼ ☼ ☼

want more grey?

my friend, dawn, has an awesome blog called
:: ciao bella ::
check out her {friday favorites} post,
where she featured this killer grey nail polish:

and,
her post from march entitled
grey is my new favorite color!

for beautiful & inspiring grey interiors

don't miss the giant post
brimming with photos
from cote de texas last month entitled
:: gray is the new turquoise? ::
{thank you, martha, for the head's-up.}

since every silver lining's got a
touch of grey...

:::may the grey be with you:::

Love it all, especially your new lace/ruffle top and peep toe shoes. I really am nuts for gray with camel. The perfect combo!
